BPAL:Bayou

BPAL Description:

A lazy, warm deep green scent with a thick aquatic undertone: Spanish moss, evergreen and cypress with watery blue-green notes and an eddy of hothouse flowers and swamp blooms.

My Notes:

Vial: I have no idea how to describe this scent. a little bit of pine, but mostly sort of mossy, earthy scents with some floral overtones.

Wet: Mostly, retains its character.

Drydown: Spicy... this is nice. I like it, but it's indescribable. It's an organic scent: that's about the best I can do. It's got a kind of vanilla/clove character, except not vanilla or cloves. But that kind of warmth. And something like cut grass that's been fermenting in the sun for a little while.

Dry: Wow. It smells like water. Like a sunlit, pleasantly brackish sort of pond with jumping frogs (plop!) and so forth. Well, I'll be....

How cool is that?

Home from SFRA for the day. Now, I try to get some words. Also, Liz sent the edit letter for Blood & Iron, so I'm going to print that out so I can take it to Minneapolis with me and scribble all over it.

I can do this.

MPLS?

Yo! E-mail me if you're going to have any time in Mpls to hang out, OK?

Thanks!

(ObBPAL note: I have Queen of Diamonds on one arm, and King of Diamonds on the other. QoD seems to be a very nice traditional what I think of as "French perfume for ladies" scent that is very not me; KoD is fascinating and indescribable and I might be in love with it. I've often preferred wearing scents made for gentlemen over scents made for ladies. Or is that scents made for rakes and rogues over scents made for... well, no, I do have favorite adventuress and wench perfumes. And a few lady scents. But the high floral thing mostly loses me entirely. Most things marked "gender neutral" I like. You noticing any trends in what you like?)
Hey! Are you going to have any time on Friday or Saturday night to have dinner with my fiance and myself, and maybe a few of our friends? If so, consider yourself enthusiastically invited-- we're both on the "Arcane Art of Rejectomancy" panel at 3:30 on Friday if'n you want to make plans.
I have plans Friday, but Saturday might be doable. I'm at the mercy of the friends I'm staying with for transportation, though, so that might be a trick....

If nothing else, we can always find a quiet corner of the bar for an hour or two....
Sure! And, if necessary, you're always welcome to bum a ride with us; I'll have my car at the hotel.
Well, there ya go. *g* We're on!
I bought Bayou hoping for that sort of scent, but on me it's very floral until it starts to fade into a floral that's more tinged with a green scent. Oddly enough, while I usually don't like very strong florals, I kind of like Bayou. I guess it's possible that there's an underlying note that I like without realizing it's there.
Well, after about three or four hours, its faded to something more floral on me. Maybe we get it in reverse. *g*

feeling better?

You didn't mention bodily discharge substances in the current entry. This is a good sign.

Re: feeling better?

Only a little goop this morning, and a raspy voice--and I figure some of that is the damned wildfires, which turned the sun orange today.

So yeah, yay!
