150,150 words

I've very nearly unpersoned a couple of pagans, poor lambs, but they're buying me more room for the actual plot. I have to get this thing down to about 148,750, and I'll have room for the two brief scenes I need to add to tie up dangling plot threads.

I am having the rather pleasant experience of discovering that I *like* this book. Which, after the suck that was working on Blood & Iron (not that I think B&I is a bad book, mind you, but after three years and nine revisions, I am somewhat bloody well done with it) is really, really nice.

And apparently Radio Paradise knows I'm working on Whiskey & Water, because it's giving me the Tracy Chapman song tht has been one of my obsessives for this book.

Standing at the point
The road it cross you down
What is at your back
Which way do you turn
Who will come to find you first
Your devils or your gods
