Dawg update

We're going to do an ultrasound tomorrow to get a better idea of what's going on and if we can medicate him, but the short form is, he's got an erratic heart rate ranging from 35 BPM to 165 BPM and could go into ventricular fib at any time.

So he could have another six months, or we could lose him tonight. Which is, you know, not unexpected. He's an old man, and this is how mastiffs go. And it beats the stuffing out of cancer or kidney failure.

But it's hard.

Yes, 'tis. I lost my doggie just about a year ago, to an unexpected illness. Sad thing.
Oh gosh. Hugs to you and the animal friend...
*hugs you*

You love as well as you can for as long as you can. It's the best you can do. It's the very best thing you can ever do.
I hope your puppy makes it through. I'll keep my fingers crossed for him; cross yours for my kitty who's in an oxygen cage overnight. Pets are cruel sometimes.
Fingers are indeed crossed.

It is a noble heart.
::hug:: for Bear.

::pat:: for Paladin, and Signy, and cats.
Thoughts and prayers headed your way for you and the big dawg.
Yeah. He's happy and seems to feel fine and he slimed the vet. I mean, there are worse ways to go.

I'm glad we had some warning. It's a bit easier when there's knowledge in advance.
I'm sorry - good luck with the ultrasound.
*sad face* At least he won't suffer. And he's had a good life and a good mommy. Hugs to you both.
*hugs* and good thoughts!
*hugs* to all of you, and it's good he's not suffering. I know you will, but I can't resist saying enjoy him all you can.
Good thoughts!!!
Aw, I'm sorry. Here's hoping he thumbs his nose (or the mastiff equivalent of thumbing his nose) to the statistics.

Sorry, Bear. :-(
