Dr. Stella commented in her blog that worldbuilding is a big, big deal for her.

I agree.

I also thought of something else that drags me into a story and makes it better, richer, more gripping. What I think I am going to call 'palpable writing.'

The right combination of fabulous reality, tight sentences, strong characters, vigorous narrative and the right detail to create a fictional dream, a believable, livable alternate universe.

Making it breathe.
