Specifically, a television show called "Lucky," on FX. Which is a half-hour black comedy detailing the life of a professional gambler in Las Vegas and oh my god, it's true. I can tell the target demographic for this show is 20-something single males (mostly by the commercials--scantily clad women hawking alcoholic beverages).
But oh my god. Have they ever captured the essential madness that is the city of Las Vegas, incongruity in the desert. Las Vegas, land of the lost. Sin City and her soft white underbelly of children's charities.
Most television shows and movies about Vegas seem to capture the tourist experience pretty well. But this--
It's mad. It's perfect. It's just like living here.
Quick, get me on an airplane somewhere else....
