A Widow for One Year, or: Please, for the love of Mike, don't write what you know.

All of the characters in this John Irving book are novelists who insert themselves and their friends into their novels. One of them has written a novel about a novelist who inserts real experiences into her novels. I'm not far enough into the turtles to discover if she is writing about a novelist....

I suppose it's possible that he's attempting self-parody... or simply achieving it.

The omniscient is pretty good though.
