it's a great life, if you don't weaken (matociquala) wrote,
it's a great life, if you don't weaken

  • Mood:
  • Music:

Today is spring
As yesterday was not
And along my walk
Crocuses burst out
Minute polypiform exhortations of joy.
Snowdrops are rioting
And so are the children
And the passers-by half-catch
Your eye to smile.
Except the one lean cool young man
Head down in head phones
Who passes.

Plump and thirty
I am not pretty enough to earn out
His "hi."
I'm so much more interesting in the long run
Than his shoes.
