Like thousands before me, I find I am moved to say "rest in peace, Jim Baen."

Deadline: August 1
Words per day to meet deadline: 591

Well, pretty much nothing left at this point but the boom. Climax ho!

The end is in sight, my pretties. I hope this makes sense when I'm done.

Stimulants:  Seltzer, oatmeal stout
Exercise: none. Probably not much until Saturday. The draft and the page proofs are winning the time war, currently.
Mail: a revision request on TCB. Now we have to decide if we can do it, or if we want to do it if we can. *pokes artistic integrity to see if it's awake*
Today's words Word don't know: botherers

Mean Things: Just made Jean Kroc's worst nightmare come true. Also, there is going to be a Daring Rescue, and Andre is benched with a broken leg.
Darling du jour:  "We vanish into the night like ninja," Maurice said, and embarrassed himself with a karate chop.
Jerry-rigging: I patched four different scenelets together into one great big grown up scene. I am so proud of it. You can't hardly see the scars.
There's always one more quirk in the character: Andre exhibited character development. Who would have known? I should probably go back and give him a POV in this chapter so we can see it from the inside, even.

Other writing-related work: more page proofs, here we go.
Books in progress: Martin Cruz Smith, Stallion Gate; Jane Austen, Pride & Prejudice
Things I'm glad I didn't go to my grave without: pretty.

Wikipedia is sort of the... average of every agenda on the Internet.
